Kely McClung - the Coolest Filmmaker on the Planet
Kely McClung - Filmmaker

Kely has had an amazing variety of production jobs and behind the scenes training as well; including gaffer, camera man, set builder, art department, casting director, 1st AD, Line Producer, choreographer, editor, post production supervisor, screenwriter, composer, sound designer, and even make up and hair!

His first feature film work as an actor was playing Super Ninja in American Ninja IV, where he also choreographed and doubled for both Michael Dudikoff and David Bradley. His first 'real' starring role was as John Lambert in the Menahem Golan production of STICKFIGHTER. A further partial list of acting credits can be found on IMDB.

Kely recently wrapped up post production on BLOOD TIES, The Action on Film International Film Festival’s “ACTION FILM OF THE YEAR”. BLOOD TIES is an international action thriller shot in Thailand, Cambodia, Washington DC, Miami, the mountains of Virginia, and Atlanta.

BLOOD TIES is Kely McClung's first feature as both Director and Producer, and he additionally served as writer, editor, sound designer, and composer (literally a one man post production job!).

Serving again as Director, Editor, and Composer, A.M. SESSION (nominated for Best Short Film at The American Black Film Festival 2007), is Kely McClung’s first short film.

Kely is writing and editing his first book, "Festival Winners - 101 Stories From The Trenches" with Amanda McCarthy (author and creator of THE DARK PLACES), detailing the behind the scenes of 101 Award Winning Films.

Though Kely is actively pursuing the production of several projects including the short film TEARS, and the development of the animation for the graphic short series THE DARK PLACES, his first love and passion is for features and he is in pre-production on the police thriller KERBEROS and the development of the international action/horror BLACK HEART.
